Prologue

Abstract

We are facing exciting times in atopic dermatitis, where increased disease understanding is improving patients’ treatment and quality of life. In order to be able to offer our patients around the globe better treatments, Consensus papers such as these are important in order to have unity in terms of disease severity and treatment categories considered for each severity. It is also important that all the specialties that see patients with atopic dermatitis have a direct dialogue and potentially also reach agreements as this one in terms of disease diagnosis and management. I am hoping that in the future years we will see other consensus papers on disease diagnosis and treatments from other parts of the world.
